Julian and I are watching a documentary about happiness, and it reminded me of something that happened before my MRI.

When I was sitting by myself, waiting for the MRI room to open up, sobbing pathetically, I looked at the curtain and sobbed, “Why?” wondering, “Why me? Why cancer? Why now?” and it was like a flashbulb went off and I immediately stopped crying and literally said aloud, “Because I need to remember every day how lucky I am.”

And that’s why.
